  A Hummingbird in My House

  we just had a hummingbird in our house!

  it flew in through an open door.

  i had been cleaning my back patio and left the screen open for a few moments when i was putting stuff away.

  If you're interested it is easy to make the nectar for the feeders. I boil 4 cups of water and mix in one cup of sugar and let it cool to room temperature. That batch will fill my feeders and last all week. Once they know there is food you'll have several of them buzzing around. They're beautiful and are one of my favorite things of summer

  just by looking at this image we can see how quickly the barrier between the congregation and former member is put up, after the announcement that this sister is no longer one of jehovah's witneses.

  If this type of treatment is expected I would not have been a good jw. I would have gone home and called her to see if she was ok. Then I would have most likely been df'd for associating with her.

  I can't be friends with someone and then in the blink of an eye treat them like they don't exist. That is not normal behavior and there is nothing loving about it!

  sometime during or after my conversion to jehovah witnesses 55 years ago , i felt it was my calling , duty , mission , to preach the word , and witness to as many people as i could about the watchtower`s interpretation of the bible that i believed was the truth.. and may i presume i am not alone there .i feel many if not all would have had similar thoughts.. without being presumptuous i think i have found my real calling in life , in doing what little i can to add my 2 cents worth in exposing this religion for what a fraud it actually is ,especially to the newbies , because most of us here have already found ttatt .. so witnessing to the truth about jehovah`s witnesses on this board , gives me much more pleasure than i ever had witnessing for the watchtower organization.

  and this site / board has enabled me to do that , thank you simon ,ang, and company.. smiddy.

  I've posted this before but I'm happy to say it again. Thank you to all that post here with the purpose of helping others! Not only do you help those that are still in and are trying to get out, but you also help those that are just studying and are on their way in.

  Mid 80's, I was just out of high school, lived with my best friend in our first apartment. Went out dancing 3-4 times a week with a group of friends (and still made it to work the next morning). Went to lots of concerts and saw all of the bands we loved (mostly 80's alternative stuff) and just had fun!!

  "You're either for jehovah or you're for satan"

  I was never baptized so I always assumed there was something wrong with me but I never felt comfortable calling anyone "brother or sister" or using the phrase "in the truth"

  I haven't been to meetings (except memorial) in a couple years so I'm out of touch with what is allowed and what isn't. Didn't the gb tell people not to join facebook? I'm assuming this must have changed?

  I have tried to discuss a few of the points that DesirousOfChange suggested and it is like talking to a brick wall. The fact that they claim to be the ONLY spokesperson(s) for god - yet as more and more time passes they are proven wrong should be enough to wake him up. I honestly don't know how to get through to him.

  i know there are many posts discussing the may money requesting televangalism...er... broadcast i mean!

  but i wanted to start one where anyone can put what they have heard any non-exjw, non-apostate witnesses say good or bad about the broadcast.

  i don't see how it can't rattle followers... but then again i might be surprised how they can twist things (2+2=5).

  Sadly, my spouse is planning on giving more. I guess he truly believes that the gb telling him to give more is the same as god telling him to give more. I'm both saddened and frustrated that he can't think for himself.

  i hope that writing this, there will be some lurkers that i can shake.. if you have not listened to mays tv broadcast, please do.

  it may wake some up.. note @ around 21-22 minutes into the broadcast lett brings up the the kingdom halls/assembly hall loans have been cancelled and the congregation can now send in what they can afford.

  wow...how many banks would do that?.

  As much as I wish I could say otherwise, my spouse will most likely donate more money now unfortunately.
